LINQ API Suggestions

Everyone seems to have ideas for what types of resources they would like to be able to access with LINQ.  So, I thought I would create a place for developers to chime in with what LINQ APIs they would like to see.  Add yours with the comment section below.  Who knows, maybe Microsoft will get some ideas.

Once I have a lot of entries, I'll create a survey for which ones are desired most.  So be sure to check back from time to time.

DateNameComment
3/10/2010 Luis Fernando LINQ to EXCEL
8/27/2009 Patrick Cooper Standardize functions for lookup value tables.
11/25/2008 Harley My company needs LINQ to DB2 on the AS400/iSeries.
9/29/2008 Avi serializable expression tree.
8/29/2008 Chakris Is there are way to access system tables from LINQ ?? Atleast to get the names or shemas of these tables ??
7/28/2008 GiJeet Linq on the Client. Why use javascript or jquery on the client to query the DOM then use linq on the server? Make a client-side linq so we truly have a one-language-to-learn query tool. We need a client-side linq!!
5/15/2008 Chris LINQ to EXCEL
4/29/2008 Leandro Moraes Definitely LINQ to DB2 on AS/400 it would help a lot.
4/2/2008 Hmmm Real-time continuous queries using LINQ. I.E. Complex Event Processing with LINQ.
9/27/2007 Jared Saindon I have been able to get LINQ to SQL to work with DB2 using an OLEDB linked server in SQL Server. The LINQ to SQL queries views that I have created in the SQL instance that connect to DB2 (on an iSeries). Only problem: can't update. Anyone know if this could work somehow?
8/10/2007 Fabio Galuppo LINQ to WDS (Windows Desktop Search) would be nice http://www.microsoft.com/windows/desktopsearch/addresources/advanced.mspx
12/18/2006 Keith J. Farmer Joe -- My memory of AD vs LDAP is that it's just a matter of pulling in schemas. Same problem any two different LDAP stores have, I imagine. My wish: a generalized, extensible, strongly-typed search provider. Register a set of data sources, and the interfaces their data expose, and go forth.
12/17/2006 Joshua Reuben LINQ to MDX (the SQL Server data mining language).
12/17/2006 Joe Rattz LINQ to DB2. For my needs, that is DB2 running on AS/400.
12/13/2006 Joe Rattz LINQ to LDAP or LINQ to Active Directory I am not sure exactly how LDAP compliant AD is, but if it is close enough, then just LINQ to LDAP would be fine.
